Youths in Amuwo Odofin have commended Coach Osarome Bright for his ability to discover and develop young and talented footballers in the community.
Coach Osarome is an ex-footballer who is passionate about developing young, talented football players in Amuwo Odofin.
He has developed players who currently play in the Nigerian league and Europe.
The ex-footballer played for football at Ziko FC, Sao Paolo, and Golden Grassroots FC.
Our correspondent was at Mile 2 community stadium where Coach Osarome and his team train.
Members of the team played enthusiastically as they took instructions from the coach.
Precious Chukwudi a 300-level student at the University of Benin, studying biochemistry told Amuwo News that he was scouted in 2014 while playing football at a community high school.
He stated that Coach Osarome helped his development and improved his fitness and developed as a midfield player.
Coach Osarome, according to David Okpehon, is a tactical genius who has kept Amuwo Odofin’s dreams alive.
“Our dream is to see Romans 8 become a global academy. We want people to witness how Coach Osarome has developed talented kids in Amuwo Odofin.”
Osarome lamented the lack of sponsorship for Romans 8, an academy he founded in 2002.
“We don’t have sponsors, so we sponsor ourselves. The journey has not been easy, but we pray we find sponsors.”
He recounted that he scouts players at various schools within the community before he proceeds to seek consent from parents.
“Some parents can’t afford to buy football kits for their kids, so I have to help out, although it has been challenging.”
