Mr. Femi Owolabi, a 44-year-old resident of Mile 2, is reported to be in need of N15 million to cover kidney transplant operations after being diagnosed with End-Stage Kidney Failure in 2021.
Mr. Femi, a father of two who also looks after an elderly mother, has been regarded as a community service-oriented person who has demonstrated his devotion by providing community services to Mile 2 when needed.
He is currently receiving dialysis twice a week at Dialyzer Medical Center, with each treatment lasting approximately 4 hours and costing N46,000 per session, including prescription costs.
Mr. Femi stated that he has been undergoing dialysis treatment since 2021, that the medical expenses have taken a toll on his money, and that he is unable to pay his medical bills, which is why he is seeking urgent assistance from Nigerians.
He also thank his friends and family for financially supporting him so that he could continue with his daily treatment.
Mr. Alli Balogun, who is assisting Femi in seeking aid, told Amuwo News that due to financial difficulties, he is subliminally compelled to settle for one dialysis a week, as opposed to the initial two times a week, which is detrimental for his health.
Adewale Adesanya has started a gofundme account with a financial aim of $45,000 on March 2, 2022, in which $2,075 has been raised to provide hope to Mr. Femi, who has demonstrated his love for the society.
Mr. Femi is now seeking financial support from Nigerians, philanthropists, organizations, friends, and family for a life-saving kidney transplant.
Femi and his family are hopeful that the funds required for a kidney transplant will be raised soon, restoring his health. Friends have turned to social media on Femi’s behalf to offer a link to a fundraiser to raise funds for a buddy. https://gofund.me/afe656fd
