The flow of traffic at Apple Junction, Festac link road has been more chaotic lately due to faulty traffic lights.
It was observed that five officers of Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) and two police officers struggled to manage the traffic as they were overwhelmed by the hectic traffic and unruly motorists.
One of the LASTMA officers, Mr. Somoye, who refused to disclose his surname, said they are aware of the three faulty lights at apple junction.
Oftentimes, Mr. Somoye was on the lookout for motorists, who may flout traffic laws rather than control traffic.
Mr. Somoye told Amuwo News that the traffic lights ought to have been fixed on Tuesday, 12 April 2022, but the team in charge complained about their faulty vehicle.
According to him, “the team is currently at Alausa and should be in the area soon.”
He assured our correspondent the lights will be fixed soon.
A motorist, Mr. Joseph Azubuike was seen parking his vehicle at an eatery a few meters away from apple junction. He described the gridlock as a war zone and hoped the lights will be fixed soon and maybe it will be better than it is now.
