A debate was held at a vendor stand in Mile 2, as residents aired contrary opinions regarding who should be the flag bearer of the All Progressive Party (APC) at the 2023 presidential election.
Some residents are rooting for the Vice President, Yomi Osinbanjo, while others believe the national leader of the ruling party, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, is the man to lead Nigeria.
Our correspondent was on the street of Mile 2, Amuwo Odofin, to speak to residents who aired their views.

Moshood Salami
I want Osinbajo to get the ticket. I don’t believe Tinubu is what we need in this country. He is only going to empower thugs, as he has done in Lagos. Osinbajo does not have the experience Tinubu has, but I believe he is God-fearing and he will make Nigeria better.
Oye Emmanuel
Tinubu is the only one who can fix Nigeria. Tinubu cannot be controlled by anyone. Osinbajo will only be a puppet in the hands of the cabal.
Serifat Akanji
I want Osinbajo to get the ticket because Tinubu has done nothing but oppress us with unions in Lagos. There’s no guarantee Tinubu won’t mistreat Yorubas if he gains power. If, by chance, Tinubu wins, we will be taxed to urinate in Nigeria.
Titilayo Salami
I don’t care who wins. I just want someone who will do well for Nigerians and put an end to inflation. Life is hard. Whoever wins should have mercy on Nigerians.
Yetunde Mohammed
I want Osinbajo because he will not empower thugs in Nigeria and I am certain he will be merciful to the masses. If we don’t sell, we don’t eat. We need someone who will have mercy by doing the right things.

Tinubu should get the ticket because he has done well. He made a lot of things happen in Lagos. He played his role in terms of democracy. It’s his turn. We need to pay him back.
