The Amuwo Odofin Local Government has been urged to hasten the completion of drainage culverts in Zone A, Mile 2 area.
Residents of the community made the call following the light rainfall on Wednesday that flooded some parts of the state.
They commended the council for embarking on the project, but pleaded for swift completion as the rainy season is fast approaching.
According to Sikiru Seragbase, a resident, “They have been on this project for about two months. I wish they had completed this project before the rainy season. I pray they can help us. “

It has been about two months since they started. We see they are working, but we need them to hurry up before we start experiencing heavy rainfall,” Mr. Shola Raman, a resident of Zone A, informed our correspondent.
Mrs. Chinwendu Onwobiko, a resident, commended the laborers and the local government for the effort, saying they are trying. They still have a lot to do, but they are doing well.
It was observed that five men from the Western Concrete Company were at work at the time.
Our correspondent spoke to Engineer Abiodun, who is the team lead. He claimed the project should be completed in about three weeks.

He further stated that the pipes being used are large enough to accommodate more water and that residents will enjoy a better drainage system.
Our correspondent also reached out to the press secretary of the Amuwo Odofin local government area, who did not respond to calls and messages at the time of filing this report.
