With a focus on serving the community, The Redeemed Christian Church of God Parish (RCCG), Chapel of Life has rebuilt a damaged portion of Durbar Roar in Amuwo Odofin.
According to Pastor Bisi Oluseyi, Pastor in charge of the parish, the rebuilding followed the mandate of Pastor Enoch Adeboye, General Overseer of the Church that parishes should be involved in community development to the best of their capacity.

He stated other factors contributed to the rehabilitation.
“Our mother in Isreal, Mother Foluke Adeboye will be 74 on July 13 this year. We have looked at a way of celebrating her to the community so we picked up that project as one of the areas that we believe can touch the lives of members of the community. “
Pastor Oluseyi said that a delay in rehabilitating the road can lead to further damage hence the need for urgent repair.
He mentioned that the parish has always been involved in community projects and will continue to do so.

Mrs. Temitope Shotunbo, food vendor, was elated to speak to Amuwo News. She believes she’s a major beneficiary of the rehabilitated road because her canteen is by the road.
According to her, “What the RCCG people did is very nice because, for over two years, the road has been bad. When motorcycles and cars drive by you would think there was an accident here. It was impossible to even take a nap.

She urged capable residents and other religious institutions to be involved in community development and not leave every project to the Government.
Mr. Joseph Nwafor, owner of a shawarma stand by the rehabilitated road expressed gratitude as he praised the parish for developing the area.
