Festac Link Road, along 2nd rainbow is partially blocked as China Civil Engineering Construction Company (CCECC) is set to expand a part of the road in a bid to extend the ongoing Orile Bridge to the area.
Notably, heavy equipment and container houses have now being moved into the area.
Sunday Adehi, Engineer, said that the expansion of Festac Link Road has been postponed due to weak gutter system in the area.
“The gutter no get power so we stop work and people from Alausa come check am see sey the gutter wear. We won comot the gutter, put new one. We go leave am now and continue in two weeks. If we do road on top this kind gutter, e fit collapse”
Sunday stated that the road will remain blocked as heavy equipment and container houses will remain on the road.
Stephen John is also an Engineer at CCECC, he said, “We won make the road wide because of the overhead bridge wey dey come. We won comot the gutter, we go bring another one come. This gutter don reach 25 years.
“We we won do the work well so our children sef go fit enjoy the road. Na why we won widen the road so every go dey okay.”
Cele Bus Stop, Ago, Durbar Junction, and First Gate are alternative routes for motorists looking to ply the road.
