The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members in Amuwo Odofin Local Government Area on Thursday sensitized residents on preventive measures to be taken against toilet diseases, urging them to take toilet hygiene and sanitation seriously.
The corps members volunteered to take part in the campaign in conjunction with Hypo toilet cleaner in order to promote toilet hygiene and sanitation.

The campaign, which began at the secretariat and ended at Apple Junction, was designed to educate people on how to use hypo-toilet cleaner to keep their toilets clean and prevent toilet infections.
Okechukwu Onyinye Joy, NYSC member, said, “We go around, we sensitize people on how to take care of their toilets in order to avoid infections from the toilet.
“We support people with some of the equipment that they need to clean their toilets and also encourage them to clean their toilets so they can be safe.
“It’s also a means of letting people know about Hypo toilet cleaner because it’s new.”

Another NYSC member, Prince Benson, said, “Today we did a sensitization for Hypo. We were given clothes, placards, and flyers to share around. We spoke about the prevention of toilet diseases and the disadvantages of poor toilets and bad hygiene.”
Sanyaolu Oluwatomisin, an NYSC member, described the Hypo Community Development Service as a voluntary service for members.
“This campaign was organized against unsafe toilets, so today is the day that was chosen. We campaigned around Festac and just told people how to safe-guard their toilets using Hypo toilet cleaner.”

Paul Ephraim (Jaypaul), former housemate of the Big Brother Naija relaity TV show participated in the toilet hygiene campaign.
