Members of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Mercy Seat Parish have celebrated the church’s 15th anniversary with gratitude to God.
The event was held on Sunday, May 8 at the Church’s auditorium located at No 1 Sarah Arobieke Street, beside Oando Fueling station, Apple Junction, Amuwo Odofin.
The lead pastor of the parish, Pastor Mrs. Ololade Alabi, recounted her journey leading the church to this moment.
She recalled that the church transitioned from holding services in her living room to having a facility that makes the anniversary even more significant.
In response to what the anniversary means to her, Pastor Alabi said, “It means a lot to me because in the past 2-3 years, we faced some attacks and the target was for the church to disintegrate but for us to still be here and be able to do what we have been able to do today, it’s a big testimony to me and I know this 15th anniversary is a memorial.”
Pastor Alabi also implored believers to be patient and remain steadfast knowing God will always be there.
The Youth President of the parish, Joy Eboh, who has been a member for seven years, expressed her excitement about the growth of the church and a fun-filled anniversary.
She also commended Pastor Alabi, members, and youths of the church for their contributions to the anniversary.
The event which was organized by the youths hosted members in activities ranging from music, drama, newscasting, and quiz.
The theme of the anniversary was ‘Ebenezer’ in which Pastor Lawal Lanipekun, who was a guest pastor, ministered.
Pastor Alabi alongside members of the church was awarded for the contributions made to the Church.
