Recall that on March 22, 2022, Multichoice raised the prices of DStv and GOtv subscriptions, which took effect on April 1, 2022.
Residents complained about the new DStv and GOtv rates, as many told our correspondent they would not renew their new subscriptions.
Amara Emmanuela Nwobe, who is a Multichoice agent at 22 Road, Festac Town, claimed customers are complaining about the new rates but it has not deterred them from subscribing.
In her words, customers are complaining about the new prices, but they are subscribing.
Customers who subscribe before the due date get the old rates. I think customers are taking advantage of this opportunity, which will continue until April 1, 2023.
Blessing Ana, who is a Multichoice agent at 52 Road, Festac Town, said her outlet is making more sales as customers continue to subscribe to DStv and GOtv plans.
“I can show you my record to see the number of customers that have subscribed today. Customers complain, but they are taking the new rates well,” she said.
Ana further recalled that customers can lock in their subscription price for 12 months.
“Price lock” means you don’t allow your subscription to expire before renewing it.
“Customers who are paying the new prices do so because they allowed their subscriptions to expire.
“The price lock policy also motivates customers to “make subscriptions,” she told Amuwo News.
